About

In collaboration with the Anindilyakwa Land Council, Yalu Aboriginal Corporation, and Gurriny Yealamucka Health Service Aboriginal Corporation, this mixed-methods project explores how Indigenous peoples in the Northern Territory and Yarrabah (Queensland) view genomics practices and potential outcomes.

As part of the broader CONNECT research program, the project focuses on understanding community attitudes towards aspects of genomics such as data sharing, and incidental findings.

The goal of this project is to develop community-informed guidelines that researchers can use to engage respectfully and effectively with Indigenous communities in genomics research. This work recognises Indigenous expertise and ensures that communities are shaping the future of genomics research in ways that are meaningful to them.
