Research governance and community engagement
NCIG is in itself an iterative, experiential research project, developing new models of leadership, governance and practice in Indigenous genomic research. NCIG is a dynamic, functioning model for Australian Indigenous genomic research. Transparent, best-practice standards and operating protocols have been established for community engagement, informed consent, management and use of biological samples and data, and ethical conduct and management of Indigenous genomic research projects.
