Associate Professor Joanne Dickinson

Menzies Research Insitute Tasmania

Dr Dickinson's research interests are in understanding how inherited differences in genes contribute to the development of different types of cancers. At present our group is studying the genes contributing to the risk of developing prostate cancer and blood cancers. This work is in collaboration with Professor Simon Foote, Dr James Stankovich, Dr Adele Holloway and Dr Brendan McMorran.
Dr Dickinson is also interested in how inherited differences in genes interact with environmental factors to influence the development of disease and how disease progresses. She is currently working with Associate Professor Bruce Taylor, Dr Jim Stankovich and Dr Ingrid van der Mei on multiple sclerosis.
