The Foyer of The John Curtin School of Medical Research, arguably something of a work of art in itself, was the impressive backdrop for a preview of Indigenous art later auctioned at Sunday Dreaming, a fundraising event held at Government House on Sunday 3 May.
Guests enjoyed a viewing of nine world-class pieces of art, with commentary from Mr Wally Caruana, widely recognized as Australia's foremost curator and consultant on Aboriginal art. Also unveiled were a number of works which have been donated to NCIG.
The Canberra Medical Society, with its long commitment to fundraising and the provision of hands-on medical support for remote Indigenous communities, was the driving force for Sunday Dreaming. Similarly, The John Curtin Medical Research Foundation was a signficant supporter of this fundraising initiative. We salute them.
